APR LLP provides their clients with high-quality interim actuarial and technical solutions and is one of the most trusted providers of interim actuarial services in the UK.
They achieve this using their service model. This involves matching their clients' requirements to the most suitable resources available from either their own staff pool or their trusted contractors.
The Task
APR was using SharePoint (SP) as their document collaboration tool. However they wanted to explore a more intuitive intranet solution that would allow the business to build better internal communications and culture for a growing team of actuaries spread across the UK. We were tasked with creating a flexible, user friendly intranet.
The Strategy
A thorough scoping and needs-analysis process was undertaken, with APR's existing workflows examined. After several sessions, we agreed a strategy of content migration from SP to the new intranet solution.
The need to access a multitude of documents was critical. The solution also had to deliver a non-technical intranet that could be accessed by all APR staff from offices and remote locations. This required powerful search functionality, and also the ability to break down the complex range of documents into categories with various permissions and restrictions.

The Challenges
The task of transferring over 500 business documents was going to be onerous. So we built a bespoke programme that pulled the SP documents, labelled them, and sorted them into the new system. This application saved APR a significant amount of time. It also ensured deadlines could be met for the launch of the new intranet.
The Results
The additional functionality and bespoke build elements of the new intranet solution have proved invaluable to APR. Industry-related articles, polling opinions, and a fantasy football league are all part of the final solution. APR LLP have become one of our top-performing customers for platform engagement. As well, the business is adding new users/employees regularly.
