Spirax Sarco Lions at Large Learning Programme

Lions at Large is a Wild In Art event brought to you by Cheltenham Gloucester Hospitals Charity, enabling everyone in the community to help fundraise for the Big Space Cancer Appeal; helping to create a new cancer care centre for local patients. As sponsors, Spirax Sarco wanted to create a Learning Programme aimed at enabling young individuals to develop essential knowledge and skills that will help shape their futures. Helping to inspire the next generation of leaders, engineers and problem-solvers.

Mosaique were briefed to design and bring to life a fun and engaging resource pack aimed to engage and inspire students and teach them important new skills such as adaptability, teamwork and confidence. The main challenge was creating a fun and engaging design that appealed across such a broad range of ages, from as young as EYFS through to KS4. Even though these books were aimed as a resource for teachers we wanted the experience to feel collaborative and connected, with students wanting to flick through the books and feel inspired to learn and get involved.

Hunter lions stalked quietly through the tall grass, staying low. Protector lions watched for dangers, keeping everyone safe. Cubs practiced their roars and learned by watching the adults. We created a bold and playful design using a well balanced mixture of vectors, lifestyle imagery and storybook realism style illustrations. We created a collage style design with overlayed elements and pull out style boxes to make the information simple to follow and easy to digest.

We oversaw the entire process from concept through to print, enabling us to guarantee a high quality outcome and reducing stress for the client. Final delivery included a resource box containing 2 beautifully printed activity books brimming with fun and engaging activitys for both EYFS-KS2 and KS3-KS4, sticker sheets for the kids and a lion bar for the teacher. Each pack also had online links to download resource sheets to aid with activitys and certificates for teachers to award to cub superstars.
